How to set up and use Dext

Dext simplifies managing your receipts and invoices, making bookkeeping stress-free. This guide will help you set up the app and navigate its key functions.



Setting Up Dext

1. Activate Your Account

  • Check your email: Look for an invitation from Dext.

  • Create your password: Click the link in the email and set a password.

  • Confirm your account: Click “Create Account” to activate it.

2. Download the Dext App & Log in

  • Once your account is activated, you’ll be prompted to download the app. Follow the link and install it on your device.

  • Log into the app using your credentials.

  • Once logged in, you’ll be directed to the Costs Inbox. This is your home base in Dext. Setup is now complete!


Using the Dext App

Three Key Functions to Know:

You will be using this app to perform 3 things:

1. Uploading Receipts or Invoices

2. Responding to Paperwork Requests

3. Clarifying Paperwork Items


Lets go through each of these:



1. Uploading Receipts or Invoices

Whenever you make a purchase, it’s a good idea to upload the invoice immediately. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Costs Inbox.

  • Tap the green “+” button at the bottom centre of the screen.

  • Choose to either:

    • Take a photo of the invoice using your phone's camera.

    • Upload a file from your phone.

  • Then click submit. Thats all!

    • (Optionally if you want to help, you can slide up on the item details and leave a description)

2. Responding to Paperwork Requests

Clarum might request missing invoices for specific transactions. To respond:

  • Tap the notification when you receive it.

  • View the list of requests.

  • Select an item and choose to:

    • Take a photo of the paperwork.

    • Upload an existing file.

3. Clarifying Paperwork Items

Sometimes, we may need your help identifying or clarifying a transaction. Here’s what to do:

  • Tap the notification when you receive it.

  • You’ll see a chat-like experience where we’ve attached a message to the invoice.

  • Reply with the required information.

  • To view the item in question, tap the info button in the top-right corner.

Accessing Communications

Both paperwork requests and messages can be reach in one area:

  • From the Costs Inbox (or the main screen), tap the bell icon in the top-right corner.

  • Toggle between Messages (for clarifications) and Requests (for paperwork).
